Swiggy Instamart overtook Blinkit to lead Indian quick commerce at 99.3% citation share, the first leadership change at the top of this category in our nine-day tracking window.

The move

Swiggy Instamart appeared in 99.3% of quick-commerce answers across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Mode, 2.6% more than yesterday. ChatGPT and Gemini both named Swiggy first.

Google AI Mode still named Blinkit first, but Blinkit's overall share slipped to 98.7%. Zepto held at 98%.

BigBasket BB Now hit an all-time high at 83.3% and Flipkart Minutes was the day's biggest loser at 6% less. Zepto's own domain, zepto.com, entered the top citation sources for the first time.

What it means

Swiggy Instamart's overtake is the first material movement at the top of this category in our tracking window.

Yesterday's reading already had Swiggy ranked first by Google AI Mode alone while the other two engines stuck with Blinkit. Today the other two engines moved in line.

That is the single-engine-leader-to-consensus pattern that the daily cadence is specifically designed to catch, and the warning sign was already in the data 24 hours before the headline change.

Zepto's own domain entering the citation pool on the same day is the structural mechanism in plain view: the engine cites the brand's own pages and recommends the brand more.

The Indian quick-commerce shortlist now has three brands tied within one percentage point of each other.
